INDUSTRY UPDATE AHEAD OF RED WEATHER WARNING FOR WIND ON FRIDAY23 January 2025 As you will be aware there is a Red weather warning for wind in effect for Northern Ireland ahead of Storm Eowyn’s arrival early Friday morning. The Northern Ireland warning will be in effect from 07:00 until 14:00 GMT on Friday.The entire island of Ireland is now under red warnings for the first time. The Met Office says there is a danger to life in Northern Ireland and the Executive Office has ordered schools to close and recommended that people work from home where possible. Please be aware that some deliveries may be impacted by these developments, especially those scheduled earlier in the day. There is a chance that later trade will be less impacted by the storm, as the warning is downgraded by 14:00 GMT, however we advise individual businesses to carry out their own risk assessments with regard to Friday’s trading.
