The Springboard Charity
The Springboard Charity and Springboard UK Ltd help disadvantaged and unemployed people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life to ‘fall in love’ with hospitality, leisure and tourism, gaining the skills, knowledge and experience required to flourish in a lifelong career.
The charity works alongside its local industry partners to advocate, support and celebrate fantastic hospitality, leisure and tourism businesses while addressing skills and staffing shortages. The Northern Ireland team has strong links with local referral partners and businesses who support their educational and employability programmes, engaging and attracting young people into the industry while offering real career opportunities.
The three key aims of the charity are:
- To advance the life and education of young people through the provision of advice, training and skills courses
- To relieve poverty and unemployment by assisting people to secure jobs in the hospitality sector
- To tackle ongoing problems the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries face, including staff and skills shortages and misconceptions about the careers they offer
