The Bank of England provides a range of free support and training materials to help businesses protect themselves against counterfeits of Bank of England banknotes. This includes the Banknote Checking Scheme, hard copy and downloadable training resources, deterrent stickers and counterfeit retention forms that can be ordered for use in your business.
Banknote Checking Scheme
The Banknote Checking Scheme is a free programme run by the Bank of England to help businesses reduce the financial and reputational risks associated with counterfeit banknotes.
Businesses that join the Scheme receive access to support and up-to-date guidance, including:
- a welcome pack with information and resources
- regular newsletters featuring banknote news, updates and best practice
- a dedicated point of contact at the Bank of England.
