We are inviting businesses from every part of the sector to add their name to an open letter calling on the Government to introduce a 10% rate of VAT for hospitality, helping to protect jobs, safeguard businesses and support the high streets and communities that rely on our sector.

Hospitality contributes £96 billion to the UK economy each year and supports 3.6 million jobs, yet our sector continues to shoulder one of the highest tax burdens in the economy. As a result, three hospitality venues are closing every day.

The open letter reminds the Prime Minister of the support he has previously shown for hospitality and urges the Government to deliver on the opportunity to create a fairer tax system that enables businesses to invest, grow and create jobs.

More than 290,000 people have already backed the #VATsTheProblem campaign by signing the petition. Now we're asking hospitality businesses to stand together and demonstrate the strength of feeling across the industry.
