CLOCKS CHANGING HAS NO IMPACT ON LICENSING

This Saturday night into Sunday morning the 27th October 2024 the clocks will go back 1 hour at 2am in line with Daylight Savings Time.

We would like to remind members that, as always, this has no impact on your licensing hours.

When the clocks go back in Autumn licensed premises do not gain an extra hour of trading, and similarly when clocks advance one hour in Spring, licensed premises do not lose an extra hour of trading.

Department for Communities guidance says:

"The beginning or end of British Summer Time is to be ignored for the purpose of permitted hours under the licensing (Northern Ireland) order 1996".
