The Future Regulation of the Private Security Industry in Northern Ireland

Department of Justice launches consultation paper on the future of regulation of the private security industry in Northern Ireland.

The consultation will run for 14 weeks, closing on 24th August 2012 and will cover 3 main areas:

  • A review of the impact of SIA licensing since its introduction in December 2009
  • Options for future regulation of the private security industry  in Northern Ireland
  • Northern Ireland specific issues

The Department is keen to seek a wide range of views on the various proposals outlined in the consultation paper and is planning to hold workshops:

  • 19 June (AM) in Newry
  • 20 June (AM) in Londonderry
  • 25 June (AM) in Belfast
