THE WHAT WHERE AND WHEN OF COVID19 REOPENING EXPLAINED
18 June 2020
As you are aware, the NI Executive has permitted the reopening of various hospitality businesses on the 3rd July (subject to any increase in the spread of COVID-19).
Whilst welcome, the limitations on the reopening of all of our hospitality businesses, especially non-food pubs, is far from ideal and we continue to work with the Northern Ireland Executive to bring forward the reopening of all hospitality businesses and a reduction of social distancing to 1m as a matter of urgency.
It is also very disappointing that the UK Government has not yet released the Covid-19 sector-specific guidance needed for our own Department for the Economy to release the NI sector-specific guidance.
Hospitality Ulster, in partnership with our sister organisation UKH and The NIHF have extensive guidance drafted and ready to go.
However, until both the UK Government and NI Executive publish their guidance, we are unable to publish ours.
With regard to staff training, we already have six COVID-19 ‘Return to Work’ training modules available on our HU Academy online platform.
In the meantime, we have released the following 'COVID-19 REOPENING EXPLAINED' briefing, including as much information as is currently available with links to generic Government guidance.
Please rest assured that we will publish the full guidance as soon as we possibly can.
