Subsidised training to help your female managers take the next step

People 1st is offering an innovative and subsidised development opportunity to inspire women to reach their full potential within our sector.

Women 1st, an initiative run by People 1st – the sector skills council for hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism, is trying to shift the culture of the industry into one which truly embraces gender balance and makes it easy for women to progress in their careers.

By empowering women, developing their leadership talent and striving for gender parity in leadership, the entire industry benefits. Gender balanced work teams result in greater customer satisfaction, quality of work, creativity, innovation, productivity and a stronger bottom line.

The Women 1st Step Up Programme is a unique and intensive development programme comprised of six one-day training sessions which includes:

  • Planning and recognising your own strengths and weaknesses
  • Communication skills
  • Impact, presentation skills, dress and body language
  • Networking and network building
  • Assertiveness and confidence
  • Influencing and negotiation

Usually £2,000 per delegate, People 1st has secured a government subsidy to offer this training to ambitious women across the sector in Northern Ireland for just £300 per candidate.

Places on this popular programme are limited to 15 and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
