FREE BUSINESS RATES WORKSHOPS & REGIONAL AGMs

RATES MAY GO UP AS WELL AS DOWN

The workshop will be followed by the Hospitality Ulster Regional AGMs, and election of regional representatives to the Hospitality Ulster Board.

Northern Ireland has the highest business rates in the UK, so it’s never been more important to understand your rates and your rights to appeal. To do this it is vital that you know what the processes are and how to ensure you are not paying more than you should!

To find out how your rates are calculated and what the material considerations are, join us at one of our FREE BUSINESS RATES WORKSHOPS (focused on hospitality & open to non-members).

Despite Hospitality Ulster successfully securing a freeze on the banding percentages, and the introduction of a new formula for calculating the food element, it is highly likely that the 2020 Revaluation process could result in increased rates for some premises.

With the cost of business rates now one of the hospitality industry’s biggest concerns and the 2020 revaluation by LPS now underway, these workshops will explain the different ways pubs, restaurants and hotels business rates are calculated.

We will also explain the changes to how food will be calculated in the Receipts and Expenditure formula used to calculate the FMT of premises with a 5(1)(a), or full liquor licence.

We will also bring you up to date on our campaign to secure the same level of rate relief as our counterparts in GB; premises in England with an NAV of £51,000 now receive one third off their rates.

It’s time we had a fair deal.
