Kurkova Pubs Portfolio Puchased by Downeys from Derry

Commenting on the news that the Downey’s from Derry have now bought the Kurkova pubs portfolio, Colin Neill, Chief Executive of Pubs of Ulster said today:

“We welcome the news that Pubs of Ulster member, the Downey’s from Derry have bought the pubs recently put on the open market after Kurkova Ltd went into administration earlier this year.

This news today means that lots of jobs are secured and the bars which were owned by Kurkova Ltd and were part of the Botanic Inns portfolio will continue to trade.

These bars represent all that is good about our pubs industry, a top notch offer, contributing to the economy and giving visitors and tourists a quality experience.

We wish the new owners well in their endeavours and will be providing all the support they require as a Pubs of Ulster member.

With the international investment conference now underway this is a great example of a local company, investing locally for the future and driving forward the hospitality industry, they are to be commended.”
