People 1st - Hospitality Advanced Craft National Occupational Standards

18 October 2010

People 1st would like to provide you with the opportunity to directly influence training and qualifications available to future hospitality managers.

The hospitality industry often faces criticism for only having low skilled, entry level jobs. Although this is far from accurate, research conducted by People 1st has highlighted a lack of industry recognised qualifications available to those at more senior levels within the industry. This lack of suitable industry qualifications overlooks managers and those in other key senior roles and fails to provide clear progression routes for new entrants to the industry. Your invitation to join us: We want to address this issue and would like to invite you to join us in reviewing new standards and qualifications for supervisory and management levels within hospitality by taking part in one of our expert working groups: Wednesday 3 November, Malmaison - Belfast We particularly need your input on: - Food and beverage service - Front of house reception - Housekeeping - Professional cookery These sessions will enable us to ensure that the standards and qualifications we develop are all-inclusive, appropriate and relevant, and address current industry needs.
