New Chair of Assembly Hospitality and Tourism group welcomed

Hospitality Ulster has welcomed the election of Sammy Douglas MLA as the new Chair of the All-Party Group on Hospitality and Tourism at the NI Assembly.

The group which is set up to gain insight into the sectors to inform better policy making, has been established as the new mandate is now fully underway. The group is made up of MLAs from across the parties at the Assembly and is expected to meet on a regular basis to receive expert briefings, up to date information on the performance of the hospitality and tourism sectors, and challenge current legislation and policies to ensure that they are responsive to industry needs.

Colin Neill, Chief Executive, Hospitality Ulster said:

“The All-Party Group offers the hospitality and tourism sectors a forum for exchange with elected representatives with a strong interest in the issues that affect these important drivers of the economy. The election of Sammy Douglas MLA as the new chair gives us confidence that the group will have strong leadership and that the members will be well engaged over the next year.”
